Nagpur :- As part of its ongoing efforts to improve hygiene, sustainability, and operational efficiency, Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has successfully installed waterless urinals in 05 WAG-9 locomotives during the month of November 2024. This initiative aligns with the division’s commitment to integrating eco-friendly technologies and ensuring cleaner, more efficient services.
The waterless urinal system installed in these locomotives features state-of-the-art design and technology aimed at enhancing user comfort and operational effectiveness. Key features of the waterless urinal include:
– *Epoxy Coated, Odorless Unisex Urinal Pot:* Ensures a clean and odor-free environment.
*Stainless Steel Wire Mesh:* Provides durability and ease of maintenance.
* Perfume Dispenser & Urinal Mats:* Helps maintain cleanliness and freshness.
*Microcontroller-Based System:* Automatically switches LED lights and exhaust fans based on occupancy to optimize energy consumption.
*Auto-Sensor Hand Sanitizer:* Promotes hygiene by providing automatic hand sanitizing.
*UV-Controlled Disinfectant System:* Ensures continuous sterilization of the urinal area.
*Exhaust Fan, LED Lights, and Hand Rail:* Improves ventilation, lighting, and overall user experience.
With this addition, a total of 15 WAG-9 locomotives in the Nagpur Division have now been equipped with waterless urinals, further advancing Central Railway’s focus on sustainability and passenger comfort.
