• Har Ghar Tiranga, Partition Horror Themed Expo at Sitabuldi Interchange
NAGPUR :- Maha Metro, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Central Bureau of Communication have jointly organized 3-day expo on Har Ghar Tiranga, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav (AKAM), partition Horror Remembrance Day at Sitabuldi Interchange. The exhibition was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhari, today and will continue till 15th August i.e. Independence Day.
The event has been organized for the last three successive years pan-India as desired by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The multi-media exhibition drew a good response on the Day-I with school students and citizens visiting it.
Addressing the gathering during the inaugural session, Municipal Commissioner, Choudhary said that the partition left a scar on the minds of the people of this country. Today’s generation needs to be educated to this stark reality. The sacrifice of revolutionaries and freedom fighters has to be told to the next generation. The responsibility of maintaining this freedom vests with the younger generation, he said.The General Manager (Operation and Maintenance), Maha Metro Shri Sudhakar Urade was guest of honor on the occasion. Independence and Republic Day were celebrated in a big way, especially in the villages. Such events and the way these are celebrated inspire the young generation, he added.The students of School run by NMC were dressed as Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jhansi Rani Laxmibai, Savitribai Phule, Jija Mata. NMC Education Officer Sadhana Saiyyam, Deputy Director of Press Information Bureau Shashin Rai, Zonal Publicity Officer of CBC Saurabh Khekde were prominently present on the occasion.
