Government in Support of Onion Growers – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Mumbai : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde while speaking in the Legislative Assembly this morning said that the government is standing firmly behind the onion growers and procurement of onion through NAFED has started.

The Chief Minister said in his statement that this government is doing justice to the farmers. The government has also provided help to the farmers more than the norms. NAFED was requested to purchase additional onions, according to which procurement has started. So far 2.38 lakh metric tonnes of onions have been procured and purchase centers will be started wherever they are closed. There is no ban on the export of onions either. The Chief Minister also said that help will be announced to the onion producing farmers as per requirement.
