Seeing the amount of power loss on power feeders in this area, MSEDCL has started a campaign against power theft in these areas. MSEDCL teams inspected several power connections in the area. As many as 107 electricity thefts worth around 31.65 lakhs have been exposed under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act. Apart from this, irregularities in electricity use have been found in 5 places worth around 1.3 lakhs under Section 126. In this case, the concerned customers have been instructed to pay the penalty for electricity theft. Due to the action of the electricity theft squad, consumers who steal have been shocked. This team is constantly moving in the area. Since electricity theft is high, technical and commercial losses on power feeders in these areas are increasing, causing suffering to honest electricity consumers. Apart from this, MSEDCL also suffers a financial blow. Apart from this, Dilip Dodke has also appealed to consumers to use legal electricity only by getting an official electricity connection and to pay their electricity bills regularly, keeping in mind the possible risk of facing load regulation in the future if the amount of power loss on these feeders goes out of control.
