Nagpur :- The state government firmly stands behind the farmers, said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today here. The assessment (panchnama) of damages caused by unseasonal rain and hailstorms in various parts of the state, including Vidarbha, has begun on a war footing. As soon as the government receives these reports, immediate assistance will be provided to the farmers, informed Chief Minister Shinde while speaking to the media at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport upon his arrival in Nagpur.
A detailed discussion on assessing the damages caused by unseasonal rain and hailstorms in various parts of the state recently took place in a state cabinet meeting. Instructions were given to carry out these assessments on a war footing. Accordingly, damage assessments across the state are in progress.
He mentioned that decisions were made in the cabinet meeting regarding the assessment of damages for areas ranging from 2 to 3 hectares. After compiling reports of crop damages from across the state, immediate compensation will be provided to the farmers.
MP Kripal Tumane and MLA Adv. Ashish Jaiswal was present at the time. Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Vijaylakshmi Bidari and Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, among others, welcomed Chief Minister Shinde at the airport.
