Mumbai :- Nashabandi Mandal is the only grant-aided organization functioning through the state government to implement the government’s de-addiction policy. RTI activist Anil Galgali has been informed by the Social Welfare Department that the Grant amounting to Rs.1.12 crore is outstanding for this organization.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had applied to the Maharashtra government on 17 May 2023 to the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance asking for information on the grant given to the Nashabandi Board. The Social Welfare Department has provided information for 9 years from the year 2014-2015 to the year 2022 2023 to Anil Galgali. 30 lakh rupees per annum grant has been approved by the Government of the State of Maharashtra. 2.70 crore as a subsidy of 30 lakhs was required to be received in the last 9 years. But only Rs 1 Crore 57 Lakh 42 thousand received from the Commissionerate has been given to the Board. 1 crore 12 lakh 58 thousand rupees is due to be paid as of today.
This organization works so that the future generation of the state does not become addicted. Anil Galgali has alleged that even though the state of Maharashtra ranks second in terms of addiction, the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department headed by the Chief Minister is neglecting it.
