– On the occasion of the Centenary Celebration of the Maharashtra Legislative Council
Nagpur :- The functioning of the Maharashtra Legislative Council is guiding the next generation. The discussions in the Council have always been a guiding force for the country. Through these positive discussions, let’s drive the state’s development, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde proposed.
A discussion session was organized in the Legislative Council Hall on the topic ‘Contribution of the Winter Session in the Parliamentary Journey of the Maharashtra Legislature’ as part of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Centenary Celebration. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke on this occasion. The session was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, Leader of the Opposition in the Council Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, Rajendra Gavai, and other members of the Legislative Council, along with senior journalists.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “In the Council Hall, we have the privilege to present ideas. We come to the hall to do justice to the people and to solve their problems. Maharashtra is leading in all sectors, including the parliamentary system. Today’s centenary celebration in this historic building is historic. The state’s parliamentary tradition is glorious and recognized worldwide. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the Winter Session in Nagpur enriches this tradition.
Through this session, we aim to deliver justice to the people and solve their problems. Let’s calculate the development of the state through this session. The people of Vidarbha have many expectations from this session, and everyone should work to fulfill them. Everyone should take this session seriously. We desire that the common people of Vidarbha get justice through this session. Connecting Vidarbha is a major achievement of this session, said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Deputy Chairman Dr. Gorhe said, “The state has a great tradition of social enlightenment from Mahatma Jotirao Phule, Maharshi Karve, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule. Their contributions have made the education movement successful in the state. The Legislative Council is continuing this tradition of social enlightenment. A book on the Council’s journey so far will also be published soon,” she informed. She reviewed the Council’s journey to date.
Speaking about the importance of the Council, Leader of the Opposition Mr. Wadettiwar said that the Council has provided representation to teachers, graduates, writers, poets, literary, social workers, and sportspersons. Leader of the Opposition in the Council Mr. Danve expressed curiosity about the session while extending his best wishes for the discussion program.
Senior journalists from Nagpur and members of the Legislative Council participated in the discussion session. During the program, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chairman Dr. Gorhe honored the senior journalists and members with mementos and citations.
