Nagpur – Shri Vijay Jawaharlal Darda, Ex-Member of Parliament and the chairman of the Lokmat Media Group visited NADT on 30.11.2021 to address the Officer Trainees of the 74th Batch of IRS on the topic-‘Areas of cooperation between media and executives in nation building’, under the Academic Manthan Series for 74thBatch of IRS.
Shri Vijay Jawaharlal Dardajiis an ex-Member of the Parliament of India, representing Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha from 1998 to 2016. He is also the chairman of the Lokmat Media Group. Shri Dardaji was the President of the Indian Newspaper Society, New Delhi from 1997 to 1998. He continues to be a member of its executive committee. Shri Vijay J Dardaji received a diploma in Journalism and Printing Technology from Mumbai University.was elected and served as the chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) for 2010-11. Shri Vijay Dardaji as MP served on various Parliamentary Committees and laid & participated in various delegations representing India at the World Forum.
Under the ‘Academic Manthan Series’ for 74thBatch of IRS, Shri Vijay J. Dardajiduring his interaction emphasized on various important & sensitive issues like accountability of bureaucracy & judiciary, democratic, transparent procedures of drafting various administrative & parliamentary laws. He also focussed on importance of Indian Constitution & importance of Hindi Language in day to day functioning of department. He pointed that sharing of information & more transparency will help department & taxpayers to build the confidence in each other & work together for nation building.
The Officer Trainees of 74thBatch of IRS interacted with Shri Vijay J. Dardaji. They received his feedback and vast knowledge & experience of Parliamentary proceedings.
