Nagpur :- In a commendable effort under Operation Amanat, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Wardha successfully recovered and returned a lost bag to its rightful owner.
On 15th February 2025, the DSCR/NGP control room received information that a white carry bag had been left behind on seat number 63 of Sleeper Coach S4 in Train 12772 Raipur Express. Acting promptly, Constable Yogesh Lekurwale checked the coach when the train arrived at Sevagram Station and found the unattended bag. Upon inquiring, none of the passengers in the coach claimed ownership. The bag was then secured, and its details were noted in the DSCR/Nagpur records.
On 16th February 2025, the rightful owner of the bag approached the RPF post at Sevagram, reporting that they had accidentally left it behind while traveling from Gondia to Nagpur.
In the presence of two independent witnesses, the bag was opened and found to contain:
2 kg of dried red chilies (worth ₹1000)
Total value: ₹1150
Upon verifying the details and after the owner provided valid identification, the bag was officially handed over through proper documentation. The passenger expressed gratitude towards the RPF department for their prompt and efficient service.
Central Railway’s RPF remains dedicated to passenger security and the safe return of lost belongings under Operation Amanat.
