Nagpur :- As part of the ongoing efforts to promote Vidarbha as a prime tourism destination in Central India, the Vidarbha Economic Development (VED) Council hosted a seminar “Amazing Vidarbha – Central India Tourism” on tourism opportunities in the region on 29th September 2024 presided by Honorable Minister Shri Nitin Gadkariji, Minister for Road, Transport & Highways, GoI .
Building on the progress of Vidarbha’s tourism industry, a talk on “Jungle Safari Ropeways” at Narayani Memorial Hall, MHKS Sancheti Public School. The seminar, which attracted tourism enthusiasts, industry professionals, and VED members, highlighted innovative opportunities in eco-tourism and sustainable travel.
During the event, VED’s monthly magazine Progress Pulse was officially launched by Dr. Sharad Dixit, General Manager of WCL, alongside other distinguished dignitaries. VED member Jesal Thaker introduced the speaker, Vikrant S. C., Director & Co-Owner of Aarconinfra Ropeways & Future Mobility Pvt. Ltd., who shared his vision for revolutionizing jungle safari tourism with ropeway technology and outlined the immense potential of ropeways in enhancing the safari experience.
In her opening remarks, VED President, Rina Sinha, emphasized the importance of tourism in Vidarbha, advocating for eco-tourism that preserves natural habitats while generating employment opportunities. The talk was arranged by VED member Rajeev Chand.
The visionary jungle safari ropeway project, pioneered by Aarconinfra Ropeways, promises to replace traditional safari vehicles with eco-friendly, emission-free ropeways. This system will provide tourists with a thrilling, aerial perspective of India’s rich biodiversity, contributing to wildlife conservation while minimizing environmental impact.
Key features of the project include:

• Advanced Technology: Provides a safe, smooth, and scenic journey.
• Sustainable Practices: Promotes responsible tourism and conservation efforts.
The ropeway initiative will replace noisy, polluting vehicles with silent, emission-free systems, enhancing both the visitor experience and environmental sustainability. India’s national parks, including 40 tiger reserves and over 100 national parks, offer vast potential for this innovative project, expected to generate substantial revenue and long-term business growth.
The project is projected to generate ₹506.25 crores annually from 30 key locations, with an estimated investment of ₹40-45 crores per ropeway system and a payback period of 3-4 years. It will also provide significant economic benefits and create job opportunities, especially for local communities and skilled workers.
A question from the audience, Vikrant informed that a plant in Butibori, Nagpur is getting commissioned for the assembly of ropeway this is good news for Vidarbha. This will generate employment for economic development of the region.
Vikrant S. C. shared his vision of sustainable tourism, drawing from Aarconinfra’s legacy of pioneering ropeway technology since 1965. The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to Vikrant S. C. by VED President Rina Sinha. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Amit Parekh, Secretary General of VED.
