NAGPUR :- The International Woman’s Day is celebrated on 8th March every year. With a week to go to this special day, Maha Metro has launched a unique offer to its female customers. As part of this offer, Maha Card would now be available to female commuters for just ₹ 20 on a top-up of ₹ 500.
This offer would be in force beginning tomorrow i.e. 1st March and would continue till 8th March – the day everyone celebrates as International Woman’s Day. Maha Card has been launched in association with State Bank of India (SBI) and till now a record 1,04,816 have been sold. Maha Card offers the discount of 10% on Metro fares.
In addition, the students can avail of 30% discount on using Maha Card. That’s not all – Maha Card users can avail a discount of 30% on weekend and Gazetted Holidays. For some time now, digital transactions have been on the rise and of the total payments done for purchasing of tickets, online dealings account for almost 50 % of the entire transactions.
Maha Card has serves as an additional fare media for commuters to pay for the intended travel. Passengers have to just tap their cards on the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Gates at metro Stations while boarding and deboarding train to pay their journey fare. The fare is deducted in the process. Maha Card can be bought from any Metro station.

EMV standard based Smart Card oriented Automatic Fare Collection System (AFC) is an end-to-end solution for the commuters to pay for the travel fares.
