NAGPUR :- New Year Gift for Nagpurians, as the much-awaited Indora Square Metro Station became operational today from Friday (20th December) evening. Kushal Meshram, a resident of Indora, became the first commuter to purchase ticket from the window at the Metro Station. He bought ticket for New Airport Metro Station.
Meshram was welcomed by Sudhakar Urade, General Manager (Operations), Maha Metro, Nagpur. Meshram thanked Maha Metro for launching passenger services from Indora Square Metro Staton. The station, including ticket windows, were decorated with flowers on the first day of the passenger services. The passengers were welcomed and greeted by the Maha Metro Nagpur
Indora Square was the only metro station in Phase-I awaiting starting of passenger services. The first train from terminal Automotive Square Station reached Indora Sq Station at 6.05 pm and the one from Khapri Station reached there at 6.02 pm. Indora Square is the 38th Metro Station to provide passenger services to the citizens.
The station structure is Double Decker station having height of 25 m above ground level. Ground Level of stations have access ramp for Differently abled (Divyangjan) persons, Lift and escalator, 2-wheeler / 4-wheeler drop off points. The parking reserved for Differently Abled passengers. The concourse level has Battery room, ASS, Baby Care Room, Drinking Facility, amongst others.
The station has 2 entry exit structures on East and West side of road. Bio-digester, Underground water tank / Overhead tank for firefighting and public amenities, DG set and Signage, statutory, warning and road signs are provided at street level. Tactile path for Differently abled and Wheelchair facility are provided on entire pathway.
