Healthy Baby Contest Promotes Child Health Among Railway Beneficiaries in Wardha

Nagpur :-Central Railway’s Nagpur Division, in collaboration with Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital (AVBRH), Sawangi, successfully organized a “Healthy Baby Contest” for the children of Railway beneficiaries on January 8, 2025. Held at the Central Railway Institute in Wardha, the initiative aimed to foster awareness about child health and well-being among Railway families in the Wardha jurisdiction.

Under the guidance of Shri Vinayak Garg, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Nagpur Division, and Dr. G.S. Manjunath, Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS), the event brought together families to assess and celebrate the growth and development of children in two age categories: 0-2 years and 2-5 years.

The contest focused on evaluating children’s growth parameters, such as weight, height, and overall development. Participating parents received expert feedback and valuable guidance on nurturing healthy habits and ensuring early medical care for their children.

Dr. Mangesh Choudhari, DMO (Paediatrician)/Nagpur, delivered an inspiring motivational speech during the event, highlighting the importance of regular health assessments, timely immunizations, and maintaining a healthy and nurturing environment for optimal child development. He also provided valuable insights on preventing common ailments, such as Tuberculosis (TB), and encouraged parents to adopt proactive health measures for their children.

The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, where Dr. Amar Taksande, Head of the Paediatric Department at AVBRH Sawangi, honored the winners. Certificates of participation were presented to all children, recognizing their involvement and encouraging families to continue focusing on health and well-being.

The program was spearheaded by Dr. Saba Aktar, CMP (WR), with significant contributions from Dr. Chaitanya, Manjusha Matey, Mr. Rahul Tayade,  Pooja Thool, Sathawane, Surbhi Mitra, Sanjay Sawle, Akash Dhote, and the dedicated team from AVBRH Sawangi. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth execution and success of the event..

The contest drew participation from 57 Railway beneficiaries, providing them with valuable insights into child health while fostering a strong sense of community among Railway families.

The Healthy Baby Contest reflects Central Railway’s commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its employees and their families. Through initiatives like these, the Nagpur Division continues to enhance the quality of life for Railway staff while encouraging a culture of wellness and awareness.
