Nagpur – Ex Standing Committee Chairman, Nagpur Muncipal Corporation and Trustee of NIT, Shri Nanaji Mohod passed away today 12th January after a brief illness at his residence at Pension nagar. He was 85.
Nanaji was among core local congress leaders in 1990s. He was corporator from 1985 to 1992. He was chairman of Standing Committee from 1991 to 1992. He was also Trustee on Nagpur Improvement Trust. He worked hard in NMC and NIT for development of areas covering Zingabai Takali, Pension Nagar, Jafar nagar, Gorewada, Gittikhadan, Mankapur, Police line takali and surrounding areas. Nanaji was also member on APMC. He was close associate of Late Sheshraoji Wankhede, Bhauraoji Mohod and Babasaheb Kedar.
He has left behind wife, 2 sons, 1 daughter and huge number of followers. Nanaji is father in law of ex Corporator Mrs Sheela Mohod.
Last rites will be performed on Thursday 13 January at Mankapur Cremation at 3 pm.
