Nagpur :- In a significant move to enhance passenger safety and security, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway has installed CCTV cameras on the Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at 18 major stations. This initiative, aimed at round-the-clock monitoring, reflects Central Railway’s commitment to creating a safe travel environment for passengers across the division.
The stations covered under this security enhancement include key locations such as Khapri , Butibori, Wardha, Warora, Wani , Sewagram, Dhamangaon , Chandrapur , Balharshah, Katol , Ghoradongri, Amla, Multai, Betul, Parasia, Ajni,Nagpur and Pandurna, among others. These CCTV cameras will play a crucial role in real-time surveillance, providing Railway authorities with improved capabilities for crowd management and ensuring passenger security, especially during peak hours.
With the installation of CCTV cameras on FOBs, Nagpur Division is reinforcing its commitment to passenger safety, said Shri Manish Agarwal, (DRM)Divisional Railway Manager of Nagpur Division. These systems will not only monitor activities around the clock but will also serve as a proactive measure to deter unlawful activities and provide a safer environment for all passengers.
The cameras will be directly connected to the central monitoring systems at each station, enabling rapid response from Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and station authorities in case of any security concerns. This enhanced surveillance will assist in maintaining a well-regulated and secure environment at some of the division’s busiest stations, adding an essential layer of security that benefits both passengers and Railway staff.
The installation of CCTV cameras on Foot Over Bridges is part of the broader security initiatives undertaken by Central Railway, ensuring safer journeys and underscoring the Railways’ commitment to passenger welfare and service excellence.
