Mumbai :- Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday night conducted an urgent meeting for discussing the measures to work on the congestion of traffic in Thane city. The officials of police department, transportation department and Public Works Department attended the meeting. The Chief Minister directed to complete all the ongoing developmental works in the Thane city before 1 June 2023, make it free from potholes and resolve the traffic congestion problem.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde conducted this meeting at his Thane residence. District Magistrate of Thane city Ashok Shingare, commissioner of police Jayjit Singh, commissioner of municipal corporation Abhijeet Bangar, joint managing director of road Development Corporation Anil Kumar Gaikwad, additional police commissioner Dattatrey Karale, additional police commissioner Dr Punjabrao Ugale, deputy commissioner of transportation department Vinay Rathore and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed the administration to repair all the potholes in the city and make the road smooth enough. He said that without considering the ownership of the roads, the administration should fill all the potholes. Presently, many developmental works are on in the Mumbai Metropolitan region and hence, it is creating heavy traffic on Thane city. Because of this, traffic congestion is experienced at many places in the city. The chief minister directed to complete the maximum of the developmental works before 1 June. He also said that the preparation of measures to be taken to ensure that people do not face any problem during monsoon should be started right now.
