Nagpur :-In a heartwarming display of prompt action and compassion, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Central Railway successfully rescued a 13-year-old boy who was found alone aboard the Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express on December 10, 2024.
The incident occurred during a routine patrol by the RPF team from Ballarshah, under the guidance of Head Constable B.R. Ambhore. The boy was spotted in coach B-2 near the toilet, unaccompanied by any guardian. Upon questioning, the child initially claimed to be traveling with his mother. However, the RPF team, sensing something amiss, conducted a thorough search of the train but found no trace of the boy’s family.
The child was safely brought to Ballarshah station, where he identified himself as Ivnwaj Iqbal Khan, a resident of Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli, Mumbai. He revealed that he had traveled to Nagpur with his mother but had been accidentally separated from her. Lacking any contact details, the boy stated that he is a class 7 student at Vikas High School, Kannamwar Nagar.
To ensure his well-being, the RPF arranged a medical check-up at the Government Hospital in Ballarpur. Subsequently, the boy was handed over to the Child Line team at Ballarshah, who will coordinate further efforts to reunite him with his family.
Central Railway’s initiative, Operation ‘Nanhe Farishtey’, aims to protect and assist vulnerable children traveling on its network. This successful rescue highlights the unwavering commitment of the RPF and Central Railway to passenger safety and welfare.
Central Railway remains dedicated to safeguarding passengers, especially children, through its proactive measures and swift response protocols.
