Appeal to consumers to use MSEDCL’s app for transformer repairs

Mumbai :- Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has appealed to consumers to use its mobile app to report the failure of the transformer, so that it can be replaced with a functional one at the earliest.

As per the instructions given by Hon. Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MSEDCL has started a campaign across the state to replace failed transformers at the earliest with functional ones. Due to this campaign, the defective transformer is being replaced within a maximum three days after receiving the information. However, consumers are urged to help as there is a delay in getting information about the faulty transformer. It can be easy for customers to use the facility on the mobile app of MSEDCL.

To solve the problem of delay in installation of repaired transformers in place of burnt or failed transformers, MSEDCL has taken various measures like immediate availability of transformer oil and creating stock of repaired transformers. Replacement and repair of transformers is reviewed daily at headquarters. This campaign has been successful and the transformers are being replaced within a maximum of three days after getting the information about the breakdown of the transformer. However, the problem is that the delayed information about failure of the transformer leads to delay in resuming the power supply.

How to use mobile app to report transformer failure –

• Open MSEDCL app on mobile named as Mahavitran

• Click ‘Report Transformer Failure’

• Click consumer name and number that will appear on the screen

• The number, village, taluka and district of the transformer to which your premises are connected will appear as prefilled form

• Fill in the information about the marking near the transformer, since when the transformer is off and what fault is observed.

• Take photo of the failed transformer and upload it

• Press the submit button

• Transformer complaints will be registered in the server of MSEDCL. The concerned authorities will be notified through SMS to install the functional transformer immediately.

• Once the transformer is replaced, consumers will be informed through SMS.
