NAGPUR : Maha Metro ridership has crossed yet another milestone as its ridership on the second day after inauguration of two lines has crossed 1 lakh mark at 7.30 pm. Given the trend, the cumulative ridership at the end of the day at 10 pm is expected to touch 1.10 lakh mark. It has been a great achievement for Maha Metro Nagpur, just a day after the entire project got operational.
The rush on the recently opened two lines was experienced almost throughout the day. In fact, given the trend for some time now, Maha Metro ridership has been continuously on the rise and considering these factors and anticipating this commuter rush, Maha Metro had deployed additional staff at all levels to handle the increased commuters. The commuters’ rush on the two lines Reach–II (Kasturchand Park to Automotive Square) & Reach–IV (Prajapati Nagar to Sitabuldi Interchange) was witnessed since morning, especially on the Central Avenue route.The opening day ridership of the Nagpur Metro Project, which includes all the four Reach, was 79,701. This is the highest ridership figures ever achieved on Sunday.
Maha Metro Nagpur ridership is continuously on the rise. The number of commuters travelling by Metro is increasing with every passing day. Given the rise, Maha Metro Nagpur has been making relevant changes based on the requirement of passengers or the need of the day.

The passenger figures touched close to a lakh on this Independence Day. The ridership on 15th August 2022 was 90,758, which is all time high in the records of Nagpur Metro. The passenger figures on 5th October this year – the day when city celebrated Dussehra and Dhamma Chakra Din was as high as 83,876.
A significant ridership was recorded on 23rd September – the day India-Australia T20 math was held in Nagpur. The day, witnessed a ridership of 80,814 commuters, but more than that Maha Metro had extended train timings beyond its scheduled time of 10 pm. The train timings that day, were then extended till 3 am (past midnight) as per to facilitate cricket enthusiasts’ return journey, who were returning after watching cricket match.
Maha Metro had recorded ridership figures of 82,925 and 80814 respectively on 14th November and 23rd September 2022. Maha Metro operates passenger services from 6.00 am to 10 pm and the services would be increase as per the commuters’ demand. Given the trend the Maha Metro Ridership is expected to touch 1.5 lakh mark in the coming days.
