Delice Bakery in Civil Lines accused of selling a rotten cake!

Nagpur : The Civil Lines-based Delice Bakery in Nagpur has bben accused by a customer of allegedly selling a stale and rotten cake.

According to the customer, he purchased cherry cocoa cake item from Delice located in Civil Lines around Janury 28. “They sold cake in 1+1 Free offer but they did not explain a best before use date or any issue in the cake. The next day, the cake became coated with fungus,’’ the customer claimed. When he confronted the shop owner, he said that fridge is kept at 6 degrees Celsius. The customer said the same is kept at home. The cost of the cake he bought was Rs 250/300.

“When I asked for a reimbursement in the form of one of their cakes which is approx Rs 2500/3000 a cake, the owner refused saying I’ll eat the fungus cake but I can’t refund the same. I said the health cost since I had a bite of fungus and I have a head injury and suffered a brain clot this month may be there. He said we still can’t do anything,” alleged the customer.

The customer said he is at at a shock for what the shop owner can say when it is one of the most expensive bakeries in Nagpur. Means if it happens here it can happen at the smaller locations with no actual recourse for buyers.
