Nagpur :-The Nagpur Division of Central Railway has achieved a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to ensure a safe, comfortable, and hassle-free travel experience for passengers. Through intensive ticket-checking drives conducted in February 2025, the division has realized a substantial revenue of ₹1.73 crore from 28,405 passengers traveling without proper tickets/irregular travel till 26th February.
The division conducted *10 Fortress Checks, 3 Massive Checks, 11 Ambush Checks, 4 Magistrate Checks, 4 Spot Checks, and 6 Cross-Country Checks,* ensuring strict enforcement of ticketing regulations. These large-scale operations reaffirm the division’s commitment to preventing ticketless travel while enhancing passenger services.
To further streamline passenger movement and ensure a comfortable journey, the division has deployed dedicated ticket-checking teams to manage crowds during peak traffic rush periods. Officers are actively monitoring these drives to maintain efficiency and discipline in railway travel.
The Railway administration urges all passengers to travel with valid journey tickets and refrain from occupying reserved coaches without confirmed or RAC reservations. Passengers with fully waitlisted PRS tickets can cancel their tickets at PRS centres up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train. If no refund is claimed within this time frame, passengers are permitted to travel in unreserved coaches. However, fully waitlisted e-tickets are not valid for travel.
In the case of partially confirmed tickets, passengers with confirmed reservations may travel in the allotted class, while those with waitlisted tickets can only travel in unreserved coaches.
The Railway administration reiterates its appeal to passengers to cooperate and adhere to these guidelines to ensure a hassle-free and enjoyable journey for all.
