Nagpur – Nagpur’s monumental tricolour was hoisted on the tallest flag post, 100 ft. high at National Cancer Institute, Nagpur on the occasion of 73rd Republic day. As the nation celebrated ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, the national flag was unfurled by Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Leader of Opposition, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Hon’ble Shri. Devendra Fadnavis.
Shri. Devendraji Fadnavis, Chief Guest for the event,marked this as a great moment of pride, instilling the sense of patriotism, for the citizens of Nagpur and especially, National Cancer Institute as he unfurled the flag at NCI. In the august Presence of Air Marshal SB Deo, (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, He alsoinaugurated New Pharmacy and a Convenience Store in the campus, for the benefit of patients travelling from other cities and states to NCI for treatment.
National Cancer Institute, a 470 bedded, Quaternary Cancer Care Center, hosted the event on Wednesday. At National Cancer Institute, affordable cancer care services are all available under one roof viz., Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Critical Care, Radiology, Laboratory Sciences, Palliative Care and Rehabilitation. NCI, a trust based institution working towards ‘Freedom From Fear of Cancer’ has been serving the public since 2012 with more than 500 patients coming everyday.
The event was attended by Shri. Shailesh Joglekar, CEO and General Secretary, NCI, Dr. Anand Pathak, MD and all the staff and patients of National Cancer Institute.
