Nagpur :- The Department of Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur has organized a one-day workshop on Good Clinical Practice and NDCT Rules 2019. Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur, Dr M Hanumantha Rao was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Other dignitaries including Dr Mrunal Phatak, Dean Academics, Dr Radha Munje, Chairman of the Institutional Ethics Committee and Dr Pradeep Deshmukh, Dean Research were also present for the inaugural function. Dr G.N. Dakhale, Organizing Chairperson, gave the introductory speech. The Organizing Secretary for the workshop, Dr Anant Khot, proposed the vote of thanks.A total of 75 delegates participated in the workshop.

Dakhale (Dean, Examination), Dr Mrunalini Kalikar, Dr Chaitali Chindhalore, and Dr Snehalata Gajbhiyewere the resource persons.The participants were enlightened on various topics including an overview of Good Clinical Practice, the Responsibilities of investigator, sponsor, and monitor, Ethical issues in biomedical research, the Role of ethics committee members in protocol review, and New drug and clinical trial rules 2019.
Each session was followed by a question-and-answer session as well asa group activity. All participants appreciated the highlight of the workshop – role play of an ethics committeereviewing a mock protocol. Experts addressed all the queries of the participants during the open forum at the end of the workshop. The efforts of Dr Anant Khot, Dr Chaitali Chindhalore, Dr Snehalata Gajbhiyeand the senior residents of the department contributed to making this event a grand success.
