NAGPUR : The winter session of State Legislature is being held in Nagpur and today Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister Secretariat & Urban Development-I) Bhushan Gagrani and his team of officials took a Metro Ride. The officials traveled from Zero Mile Metro Station to Airport South and then to Sitabuldi Interchange Metro Station. Maha Metro Managing Director Dr Brijesh Dixit welcomed Gagrani.
The team of officials went around Zero Mile Freedom Metro Station and viewed exhibition there. Maha Metro officials shared information about entire work and progress of Nagpur Metro Project with Gagrani and his team of officials.
Nagpur has been blessed with a good transport system in the form of Metro and it is a matter of pride that international standard infrastructure is available in the city today. The rush at Metro Stations is an indication that Metro services are getting good response and Shri Gagrani greeted Maha Metro for the same.
The Metro journey is affordable as ticket price is minimal and affordable for common man. The most important thing is that metro stations are accessible and citizens can reach metro station from any part of the city. Use of public transport helps in faster movement and also helps to protect the environment.
It needs to be noted here that the UD Department played an important role in successful completion of Nagpur Metro Rail Project (Phase-1) and it was actively involved in the project during its execution stage.
The Deputy Secretary Vijay Chaudhary, Joint Secretary Pratibha Bhadane, Sunil Marle, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Chandrakant Undge, Additional Secretary Ajay Singh Patil, Kishore Gokhale, Nirmal Chaudhary, Desk Officer Rahane and other officials were part of Metro Ride.
The Director (Strategic Planning) Anil Kokate, Executive Dirtector (Operations) Uday Borwankar and other Maha Metro officials were also present on the occasion.
