-One of biggest referendum on retail trade, e-commerce and taxation system
New Delhi -Daily growing problems of the traders of the country, business deteriorating due to Covid restrictions in the last two years, lack of policy for retail business, threat to the existence of business of traders due to the current form of e-commerce and several other problems including GST are some of the burning issues of the country’s retail trade and due to these crisis, it has become very difficult for traders to do business across the country and instead of doing business, traders are spending more time of in answering the notices of various government departments and following the various imposed government orders. The traders across the Country are fed up with such a scenario and therefore the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced to hold the country’s largest plebiscite among traders on all these important issues from 1st February to 28th February across the country by launching ” Vyapari Samvad” campaign under which the team of top CAIT leaders will have a detailed discussion on problems of the traders by a “door to door” campaign with trade association of the states in different cities and will raise public opinion to solve the problems.
This campaign will be flagged off on 2nd February by CAIT National President Shri BC Bhartia from Nagpur, Secretary General Shri Praveen Khandelwal from Delhi, National Chairman Shri Mahendra Shah from Ahmedabad and National Senior Vice President Shri Brajmohan Agarwal from Bhubaneswar, Senior Vice President Shri Ghanshyam Garg from Lucknow,Senior Vice President Mr. Dhairyasheel Patil and Lalit Gandhi from Mumbai simultaneously, while the CAIT State Chapter Leaders will also began the campaign in their respective State Capitals, on the same day,
Mr. Bhartia and Mr. Khandelwal said that the way traders are constantly being neglected in the country and rules and regulations are being imposed unilaterally without consulting them on the matters related to traders throwing away the participatory governance vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the draders are deeply anguished and resented. Arbitrary amendment in GST, closing of shops of traders in the country due to constant bullying of big e-commerce companies and the silence of all political parties on this is a big matter of concern and traders of the country have decided to raise these issues now on a large scale and have decided to fight the battle themselves which has led the CAIT to awake a traders opinion drive through “Vyapari Samvad” and referendum. They informed that few prominent trade leaders of the Country will meet in Delhi on 23rd January to make a complete strategy on this subject.
Mr. Bhartia and Mr. Khandelwal informed that pension to the traders, insurance to traders on the pattern of Uttar Pradesh government, one single license in place of so many licenses on the pattern of Aadhar card, review of multiple laws imposed on traders, provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, review of impractical laws, empowerment of women entrepreneurs, etc. are some of the important issues which are troubling the traders across the country. CAIT will prepare a white paper on all these issues which will be presented in the second week of March to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Smriti Irani, Urban Development Minister Shri Hardeep Puri. Chief Ministers of Finance, ministers and presidents of all political parties of the country will be personally given and they will be demanded to solve the problems of the traders.
