Nagpur :-IGNOU offers admissions every year in two sessions starting from January and July. The admissions for July 2023 are open now. Dr. P. Sivaswaroop, Senior Regional Director of IGNOU Nagpur informed in a Press Meet that the admission process is Online and the link is https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. IGNOU offers admission for 271 programmes which include 30 Bachelors Degree, 60 Master Degree, 63 PG Diploma, 25 Diploma, 15 PG Certificate, 78 Certificate Programmes. These programmes are on Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode where the students will get study material by speed post and classes will be held at local study centre. IGNOU also offers program through Online (OL) mode for July 2023 session. 44 programmes including MBA, MCA, MAJMC, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, and French Languages etc are offered Online. In this program material is provided through soft copy. Last date for Admission is 30th June 2023. Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit Points and Course wise Registration is provided for desiring learners. New PG Diploma in Sanskrit Sahitya Mein Vigyan will be offered from July 2023 Session and any Graduate can join this innovative programme.
Dr. P. Sivaswaroop said that generally 12th Pass students feel only few options like B.Tech, MBBS, BA etc. But he informed that for 12th pass out students, IGNOU offers 114 programmes which include 28 Bachelor Degree Programmes, 22 Diploma Programmes and 64 Certificate Programmes like BA Honours English, Political Science, Psychology, BCOMG, BSCG, Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education, Certificate in Functional English, BBA Retailing, BA Facility and Service Management, Bachelor of Arts (Vocational Studies) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Diploma in Event Management, Diploma in Tourism Studies, Diploma in Modern Office Practice, Certificate in Business Skills, Certificate in Communication and IT Skills, Certificate in Fashion Designing, Certificate in French Language, Certificate in Japanese Language, Certificate in Spanish Language and Culture, Certificate in Yoga, Certificate in Mobile Application Development, Certificate in Geriatric Care, Certificate in Home Health Assistance etc. As per NEP 2020 and UGC guidelines, IGNOU offers double degree, in which a regular college student can also do another degree simultaneously through IGNOU.
He added that IGNOU students who joined for semester wise programmes (like MBA, MCA, BCA etc.) and more than 1 year programmes like Under Graduation and Post Graduation have to re-register for their further studies for the July 2023 session. Irrespective of whether they completed their previous year or semester exams, they can re-register for their further year/semester online, before 15th June 2023.
Dr. Sivaswaroop spoke about IGNOU examinations and informed that IGNOU conducts Term End Examinations twice a year and the June exams will be commencing from 01st June 2023 onwards. The eligible students can download the hall ticket from https://hall_ticket.ignou.ac.in/HALLticketjun23/IGNOUHallTicketJun2023.aspx. An email and SMS were sent to all examinees. Under Nagpur Region 10 examination centres are established including two for Prisoners of Nagpur and Amravati Central Prisons. Other centres are at Nanded, Buldhana, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Wardha, Nagpur and Chandrapur.
He stated that IGNOU provides special facilities to students with disabilities. To explain these facilities, the Disability Cell @ RC Nagpur organized a Webinar for all such students in association with National Centre for Disability Studies (NCDS) and Equal Opportunity Cell of IGNOU, New Delhi. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Chairperson, Equal Opportunity Cell, Dr. Hemlata and Dr. S. K. Prasad of National Centre for Disability Studies of IGNOU, New Delhi explained the Divyang Students about the Special facilities. The experts answered all the questions and doubts of the students. Rajesh Wasnik, Nodal Officer of the Disability Cell @ RC Nagpur conducted the Programme.
