First meeting of Maharashtra Economic Advisory Council held

Revolutionary step for taking the state on the path of overall development

– Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Mumbai : “The Economic Advisory Council has been established with the objective of overall development of the state by keeping the common man at the center. This is a revolutionary step for Maharashtra,” said Chief Minister  Eknath Shinde.            The first meeting of Economic Advisory Council, government of Maharashtra was today held at the Sahyadri state guest house. The Chief Minister was addressing a Press Conference after this meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, president of Tata sons and Chief of the Maharashtra Economic Advisory Council N Chandrashekharan were also present during the media conference.

Stating that this meeting will be instrumental for taking the state on the path of overall development, the Chief Minister further said that Maharashtra is the growth engine of the nation and this meeting will definitely prove to be revolutionary for development of the state. He said that important discussions were held for balanced development of all the regions of the state. Eknath Shinde said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set the target of making five lakh dollar economy till 2027 and the role of Maharashtra will be very important in achieving this goal. He said that Maharashtra is the state with highest economy of the nation and it will have a Lion’s share in achieving the five lakh crore dollar economy. He also said that on this background, the target has been set for making the Maharashtra economy to one lakh crore dollar. He said that this conference was important on this background.

He said that along with economic development, this Council is also going to consider the agriculture sector, farmers and the lifestyle of each of them and definitely, common man will be at the central point of development. The Chief Minister also said that the increase in production, use of Technology, supply of finance will be studied in reference to the agriculture field and the Council will be giving instructions and making recommendations for development.

Going to prepare road map of development – DCM Devendra Fadnavis

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that during the meeting of the Maharashtra Economic Advisory conference, presentation for vision of development of the state was made. He said that in this meeting agricultural sector, skill development, financial inclusion and elimination of regional imbalances were also discussed. He said that people with various backgrounds are working as members of the conference and they also expressed their views. Devendra Fadnavis said that the chief of the conference made a presentation which included the suggestions by members of conference.

The deputy chief minister further said that road map will be prepared on the basis of the suggestions given by the members in the meeting of the conference and it will be implemented in a time bond way.

Chief of the conference N Chandrashekharan said that the members of the conference are eager to contribute for accelerating the opportunities in the state and said that various ideas regarding the development were tabled during the conference. He further said that Maharashtra is an important state of the nation and its Gross Domestic Product GDP is the highest. He said that there is abundance of infrastructural facilities and skilled human resources. Chandrashekharan also said that along with the development of the state, discussions were also held on development of the lifestyle of each and every one and measures to increase per capita income. He also said that agriculture, artificial intelligence (AI), Green Road were also the subject discussed in the conference. He said that we all are eager to work under the leadership of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister through the medium of this conference.
