Nagpur :- In a significant boost to freight movement and infrastructure development, Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has successfully facilitated the loading of the first coal rake (59 BOXN wagons) from the newly opened Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) of Fuelco Washeries (India) Limited (FWSM), served by Moorsa Station.
The rake was loaded by M/s MSPG and was dispatched to Maharashtra State Electricity Board Siding (MFSG) under Bhusawal Division, covering a total distance of 427 kilometers. This movement is generate additional freight revenue of ₹0.45 crore.
The commissioning of this GCT under the ambitious PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan represents a key step towards improving multimodal connectivity and enhancing the ease of doing business. The terminal will play a pivotal role in supporting the bulk movement of coal and other commodities, facilitating faster and more efficient logistics operations.
Nagpur Division continues to focus on expanding freight handling capacity through public-private partnerships and infrastructure augmentation. The new terminal at Moorsa is expected to attract more freight customers, contributing to the region’s economic growth and boosting Indian Railways’ freight share.
This development underscores the Division’s commitment to strengthening supply chains and supporting India’s vision for integrated and sustainable logistics.
