Ratnagiri :- “The Airports play an important role in giving a boost to industries, business and tourism. If the helicopter services, tourist circuits are developed, it will be more beneficial. You should be on the side of providing jobs and not asking for jobs,” said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Bhumi Pujan of Ratnagiri Airport Terminal building and laying of the foundation stone was performed at the hands of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He was speaking on this occasion. Guardian minister Uday Samant, legislator Shekhar Nikam, Ravindra Fathak, Special Inspector General of Konkan range Sanjay Darade, Managing Director of Airports Authority Swati Pandey, district magistrate N Devendra Singh, chief executive officer Kirti Kiran Pujar, Special invited member of Sindhuratna Samruddha Yojana Kiran Samant, Sarpanch of Mirjole village Ratnadeep Patil, Sarpanch of Shirgaon village Farida Quazi and others were present during the program.
Speaking further, chief minister Eknath Shinde said that the construction work of the new terminal building of Airport has been kick started and a new lawn will also be coming up here. He said that the tourism sector in this region has the potential to compete at the global level but for that connectivity is very necessary. He said that if the night landing facility is made available, the number of foreign tourists visiting this place will be enhanced. He directed to make available all the necessary facilities so that the airport can work with full capacity. Shinde said that the Industries from defence sector worth 10 thousand crore are eager to get established here. Stating that the government is providing all the infrastructure for industries he asserted that the atmosphere for industries is conducive in this region.
The Chief Minister also said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) to the tune of rupees 5 lakh crores have been signed in Davos conference and 70 percent of these agreements are at the implementation level. He said that there is a boom in the industrial sector and Ratnagiri district has more opportunities for developing in the tourism sector. Informing that foreign exchange is earned on a large scale through fishing business in this region, he said that if we want to achieve the next level of development, the airport will be the best facility.
Reiterating that the state government is providing all infrastructures for the maximum number of industries to get established in Maharashtra, he said that many new industries are setting up in Ratnagiri district. Shinde said that Ratnagiri district has more opportunities for developing in the tourism sector as it has more natural beauty surrounding the entire region. He said that fishing is an important industry of this district and for development of all these sectors, connectivity is a very essential factor. He exuded confidence that the construction of this building will soon be completed and the air traffic will be started.
