– Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on a two-day Kashmir visit from Sunday
Mumbai :- Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has begun his two-day visit to Kashmir from today. He arrived at Srinagar at around 3:30 pm this afternoon. His visit is part of various programs like ‘Hum Sab Ek Hain’, the inauguration of Kargil; an International Competition, a Visit to the War Memorial, Interaction with army jawans and Marathi families organized by “SARHAD” in commemoration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. With this a new era of friendship between Maharashtra and Kashmir had begun from today, said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
After participating in the cabinet meeting at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, flag hoisting on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Struggle Day, and other programs, Chief Minister Shinde began his Kashmir visit. He is accompanied by Principal Secretary Brijesh Singh.
“SARHAD” organization of Pune has organized the “Hum Sab Ek Hain’ program coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday to salute the unity in diversity. This special program marks the beginning of a new era of friendship between Maharashtra and Kashmir. To mark its beginning 73 senior citizens of Kashmir will be honored today. This program will be held today at Srinagar where Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha will be prominently present. Following this, Chief Minister Shinde would interact with Marathi families in Kashmir.
Inauguration of the Kargil International Marathon Competition
Chief Minister Shinde will inaugurate the Sixth Kargil International Marathon Competition on Monday morning at Kargil. Following this, the Chief Minister will inaugurate a medical camp organized by Dr. Ali Irani and Physiotherapy doctors commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the Kargil War victory. He will also unveil the 72-foot Tiranga flag for the Indian Army through SARHAD at Chhanigund.
Chief Minister Shinde will be visiting the War Memorial at Drass and interacting with army officers and jawans. He will release the book translated into Marathi and titled “Kargil Ashcharyacha Dhakka te Vijay” penned by General Ved Prakash Malik. With this two-day Kashmir visit a new era of aharashtra-Kashmir friendship will begin, Chief Minister Shinde said.
