NAGPUR : Leading scientists and technocrats, including the Prime Minister’s Principal Scientific Advisor, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, will be delivering public lectures during the first plenary session of the 108th Indian Science Congress on January 3, 2023.
The first plenary session will be held immediately after the opening session in which Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will inaugurate the mega science and technology event being hosted by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.
The session will be held from 2.30 pm on January 3 at the A.K.Dorle auditorium of the RTMNU Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the theme: “[email protected] – Science and Technology Challenges and Oppurtunities.
The session will be chaired by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India and the Prime Minister. Prof D.Narayana Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SRM University, AP, will be the convenor. Prof. Sood will speak on “Convergence of Technological Revolutions: India Marching Ahead.”
Dr. M.Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi, will speak on “India’s Draft Blue Economy Policy: Challenges and Opportunities.” A lecture on “High-performance bio-manufacturing for a prosperous India,” will be delivered by Dr. Rajesh S. Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
Dr. S.Chandrashekhar, Secretary to the Govt. of India, Department of Science and Technology, will speak on “Science and Technology Towards Sustainable Technologies in India.” The concluding lecture of this session will be delivered by Dr. N.Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR, on [email protected] – Science and Technology Challenges and Opportunities.
